RIBBON CUTTING FOR CMC’S NEW, FULL-SERVICE LODI EAST HEALTH CENTER

LODI – Community Medical Centers will be hosting a ribbon cutting for its 26,000-square-foot Lodi East health center. The event will take place from 12:00 p.m.–2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 29, at the Lodi East site, 1150 S. Cherokee Lane.

Lodi East will be the largest of CMC’s 30 health centers. In addition to medical, dental and behavioral health services, Lodi East will offer women’s health, pediatrics, chiropractic care, medical specialties, an onsite lab and pharmacy. CMC expects to begin providing primary care services in November, with additional services rolling out over the next six months.

“Our new, state-of-the-art Lodi East health center will provide our patients with a medical home where they can receive a full range of services, all under one roof,” CEO Christine Noguera says. “This new facility will help us further our goal of providing access to quality health care for the most vulnerable and medically underserved residents in our community.”

CMC purchased the parcel of property for Lodi East in 2018, with plans to break ground in 2020. The COVID-19 pandemic delayed the start of construction until late July 2023.

“I’m extremely proud of the different teams that came together to make the dream of this building a reality, serving our patients in Lodi and the surrounding area,” says Bob Castillo, CMC’s Director of Facilities. “The tireless efforts of all the teams involved — from architects to contractors, to our CMC teams — pushed this project forward and made it a success. Our patients will reap the benefits of all this hard work.”

The new facility is powered by 329 solar panels and is almost twice the size of CMC’s other Lodi locations combined. Lodi East is located on Cherokee Lane north of East Kettleman Lane, just west of Highway 99.

“Lodi East’s location will be very convenient for patients who need the vital services we offer,” Noguera says. “We are so proud to be able to bring this new location to some of those who need CMC the most.”

CMC began as a volunteer effort serving farmworkers in the fields in the late 1960s. Today, CMC’s 30 locations provide medical, dental and behavioral health care to more than 115,000 low-income and vulnerable people annually. Other CMC Lodi locations include Lodi Turner (formerly Woodbridge Medical Group) which CMC opened in 1983, a clinic established in 1999 on the campus of Lawrence Elementary, plus Lodi Vine Family Care and Pediatrics acquired from Adventist Health in 2019.
